Menagerie Hall
This structure is the most notable of all the campus buildings for being the tallest. The Tower of Avakaron and the Sulstas Lighthouse are the only buildings that surpass the Menagerie’s height. Another noteworthy feature is that the entire roof is made from glass. Only one type of spell is taught within the Menagerie, Chimerics. Each chamber is only accessible from the outside with no interior passageways that lead to the other rooms except for the catwalks which are accessible only from the fourth room. The first room is the Aviary where trees have grown inside to the point that they brush against the glass ceiling. Several dozen birds of different breeds chirp and sing throughout the day inside. Master Hydromancers maintain a small, artificial, indoor waterfall where the birds bathe and drink. At dawn the ceiling is open over the Aviary and closed again at dusk.
In the second room, known as the Mammalia, are trees, boulders, and a stream that flows from the Aviary under the wall. Cats, dogs, sheep, and other domesticated animals are kept here. The third room is the Reptilia. This room is kept warmer by Pyromancers to sustain the iguanas, snakes, lizards, and turtles. The last room is used for food storage and other supplies for the upkeep of the animals. A set of stairs leads up to the catwalks that go through the rest of the complex.
Students utilize the Menagerie to study different animals in order to incorporate more variety in their Chimeras. They do this by assisting in feeding and caring for the animal(s) they have taken an interest in. While not every animal in existence is available for study at the Menagerie, the full-time caretakers may possibly know where more exotics creatures could be found.
Spells Taught
NPC Instructors
Some, though not all classes, require more than one instructor to be present. A single instructor is expected to be able to handle teaching up to five students in one lesson. If the number of students exceeds five, or if the day’s lesson is expected to be complex or dangerous, then one or more adjunct instructors are present to assist in handling the lesson. Some instructors fill multiple roles. They could be one of the primary instructors for one spell and serve as an adjunct instructor in one or more other spells.
At this time, players are welcome to develop NPC instructors for this location and submitting them in the NPC Request forum.
