Cartography

The Cartography skill is a Knowledge Specialization skill characters can earn XP in. A character’s Cartography skill represents their ability to make precise calculations about the local landscape and document that information onto a map useful for navigation. Characters with high Cartography skills typically are cartographers who can create elaborate and extremely accurate maps, useful for long-term navigation in complex lands.

Cartography includes activities such as measuring distances between landmarks, marking new locations on existing maps, or creating maps from scratch. Cartography does not include beautifying a map as that would be under the skill Artistry.
