Fort Diaman
Description
Within the White Wood Forest lies a stronghold housing one of the most brutal bandit factions, the Wightlers. No path marks the way to the fortrest which lies over an hour’s travel from the eastern edge of the Forest. Only those that know how the navigate the forest, and have previously been there, are able to find their way. Sentries are set in the nearby trees to fend off any wanderers that may accidentally stumble across the fortress.
The fortress itself is constructed out of White Birch which aides to camouflaging it from view. A stockade wall fifteen feet high encircles the fortress. A single wooden gate on the western border allows entry. A small river flows under the stockade walls on the north side and out the south to give easy access to fresh water. Walking through the gate a person enters a large outer ward. A clearing inside of the gate with another stockade wall and second gate. The outer ward is to serve as an additional defense against siege. Through the second gate comes the visual of a three story keep surrounded by a hundred simple wooden homes. Canvas tents and shelters sprout up among the spaces between the smaller buildings.
There are very few traditional shops available inside Fort Diaman which leads most inside willing to engage in simple bartering among each other for goods or services that they need. On the southwest side of Diaman is a blacksmith’s forge that is used mostly to repair armors and weapons.
Standards of living within Fort Diaman are below the standards of major cities. Many live inside shelters they would use when roaming either the Great Plains or Eastern Steppes. Wightlers that are more successful and/or experienced live within a wooden home. Bannerets, Padrones, and the Seigneur live inside the Keep and experience a standard of living similar to that of living in a city.

Funding and Equipment
Fort Diaman has reached a point of self-sustainment. From every raid, a percentage is to be given tribute to the Seigneur, while the rest is distributed among those that were part of the raid. Supplies are mostly taken from small villages, outlying farms, or caravans. People within Fort Diaman trade using either coin, possession, or skill for things that they want. When certain supplies are low, or in excess, some Wightlers will be disguised as merchants and sent to one of the major cities to buy food or materials for the fort. A few spies are left in cities and towns to learn of well supplied caravans that pass through or near Wightler territory.
