Goddess of Sleep & Dreams

History

As the Goddess of Sleep, Aneves is very close to Mosak, God of Stealth and Shadow, and it is rumored they have an intimate relationship. While Mosak had his own grudges to act on during the Domain War, Aneves set her sights on Sulest, Goddess of Sun and Light, her closest opposite. Aneves spent most of the war raging against Sulest without much success. It wasn’t until later in the war when Avenes got lucky and while she missed a fatal blow, she did manage to put the Goddess of the Sun to sleep. The effect of Sulest’s sleep on the world of Anore was dramatic, but, thankfully, Aneves lifted her curse when she was approached by Cheon and Issias to end the war. The two Goddesses have made their peace with each other and are said to be close friends. Now, on Siliren, she rules closely with Sulest and Mosak within her Domain.

Domain

Aneves is the Goddess of Sleep and Dreams. She rules over sleep, with it being said those who suffer from insomnia have done something to offend the Goddess. She brings dreams, from happy pictures to terrible nightmares that haunt the sleeper for days. She can even remove dreams from a being, cursing them to black nights. She gifted the world with sleep, a way for beings to recover and grow stronger. And just as she has given the gift, she can take it away.

Interaction

Aneves is not known to interact directly with the people of Siliren. Instead, she often interacts through dreams, appearing in the dreams of those she favors, bringing them good news, or within those she despises, creating horrible nightmares for nights on end. For those beings who suffer from dreamless nights, it is said they mean nothing to the Goddess, and are considered forgotten souls.

Religion

Aneves is revered by many who believe in her existence. She is greatly feared and respected. As sleep is required of life, worship of Aneves is required as well. Many of her very close followers keep dream journals and attempt to decode supposed messages from the Goddess. Many cities have temples dedicated to her, or joint temples to Aneves and Selust or Aneves and Mosak.
