Celestial Familiar

Physical Characteristics

Appearance:

• The Celestial Familiar takes on a form that reflects the inner essence of its owner. This could range from a favorite animal encountered during childhood, taken residence in the heart, or a unique creature from the mind of the holder.
• These familiars are small, often able to be held in the palm of a hand.
• They possess a faint, otherworldly glow and have features that are delicate yet distinctly magical, such as shimmering fur, iridescent scales, or gossamer wings.

Behavior:

• Celestial Familiars seem to react with the owner. Not as a separate entity, but rather as a reflection. An outward demonstration of the inner workings of the holder.
• Each familiar displays unique mannerisms and quirks that align with the personality of its owner.

Magical Properties

General Abilities:

• Minor Magical Tasks: These familiars can perform extremely small tasks They can manipulate their surroundings as something of their size would be able to normally, and are charged with Rigen. perhaps a small shock, or a light breeze.
• Emotional Resonance: They have a subtle empathic connection with their owner, often reacting to their emotions or providing comfort during stressful times.

Limitations:

• Limited Power: The magical abilities of these familiars are minor and mostly for convenience. They are not capable of performing complex actions or powerful magic. They are ‘fed’ by small amounts of Rigen shed by their owner, and can only hold a small amount of Rigen.
• Dependency on Owner: They are completely entwined with their owner. If not physically close by they will wither into a ball of rigen, only to be revived when the owner returns.
• Fragility: Despite their magical nature, Celestial Familiars are physically delicate and easily targeted by Siphonics magic. While they cannot die, they can be withered for an extended period, until replenished by the Rigen of the owner.

Lore and History

Origin:

• Said to be born from the essence of the stars themselves, Celestial Familiars are a product of Summoning, a trace of otherwordly magic, bound to the Rigen of Siliren, and eventually bound to a caster to take their final form.
• These familiars are exceptionally rare and seem to bind to strong casters. However, the reasoning behind their choice is not known, and many casters were nowhere near a summoning when the creature became bound.
• Little else is known about these creatures.
