Enchanted Clock

An Enchanted Clock is, by far, the most accurate Timekeeping device that currently exists on Siliren. Developed by the Avakaronian Hellbends, this clock can be accurate down to the second. The clock itself looks similar to a sundial, with a round surface and a pointed triangle at the noon/midnight hour. However instead of relying on the Sun’s light to cast a shadow and determine time, the Enchanted Clock used Umbramancy and/or Lumenmancy to create its own, magical, shadows. The round surface can be made of nearly any material, and is etched with hours, minutes, and seconds. Usually these clocks are decorated more lavishly than other types of Timekeeping devices as well. 

Enchanted Clocks are extremely expensive. While they are accurate enough to be made small and portable, the cost to create them usually supersedes the budget of the person trying to buy one. However, there are a number of wealthy individuals who sport these fancy clocks in their pockets.

Because of their cost, the Enchanted Clocks are very rare. The most famous is located in the Tower of Avakaron, and is also the largest one in current existence. This clock provides accurate time of day to all of the city. Because Enchanted Clocks, by nature, include Rigen and magic, these clocks are even more rarely seen in Human communities, even if the coin was available to purchase.
