Twyldada Guild Halls

A collection of longhouses that are among the oldest in the city. They were a small part of the original Avakaron Guild before it was converted into the Ministry of Casters. Twyldada was the original founder and overseer of these buildings for the purpose of researching rigen and its changes since coming to Siliren. Other structures were also dedicated to this field but were converted into communal homes and business as Avakaron’s population grew. The Dada family still retains ownership of the Guild Halls though the Ministry of Casters now controls the research and training operations within.

Very few sections of each building can claim to be original due to the number of accidents and incidents involved with training the citizens since the guild’s founding. Each building contains between five and eight rooms suitable to be auditoriums. One type of spell is taught per room each day although certain rooms are closed for an entire day or two out of precaution. Every citizen can attend any of the classes provided they have registered with the Ministry of Casters of their intent to do so.

This portion of the Ministry of Casters Campus is sometimes referred to as the Guild Halls when quickly referencing the western half of the campus.

Xaukri Halls – A pair of buildings dedicated to the teachings of Harnessed Rigen Spells.

Esregena Hall – The longhouse with classrooms dedicated to the teachings of Personal Rigen Spells.

Hall of Exploration – Where pioneers establish research labs to explore new spells.

Mebuta Hall – Where casters gather to learn Alchemy and Enchanting.

Genarc Hall – A facility where a few classes are held, but best known for its Practical Applications Chamber.

Menagerie Hall – One of the largest buildings in the city that houses numerous animals.

Registration

When a citizen registers to become a caster, they must pay the Ministry a seasonal fee for access. The amount due is dependent on their skill level for determining the materials the Ministry requires to maintain such teachings. Each class is taught by an expert. Experts and Masters that register can request access to the Hall of Exploration to either be an assistant to a researcher, or to establish their own research office.

Standard Classes

Aeromancy, Auristics, Deceptics, Delugism, Geomancy, Hydromancy, Lumenmancy, Masking, Perceptics, Pyromancy, Rigenology, Telekinesis, Umbramancy, and Warding. While Apprentice level classes of Rigenology are free to all Hellbends, they are not free at higher levels or to other races.

Class LevelCost Per Class Per Season
Apprentice (0-25)5 Ruby Skerricks
Journeyman (26-50)10 Ruby Skerricks
Expert (51-75)15 Ruby Skerricks
Note: Any thread that takes place in the classroom is only able to award skill gains appropriate to the Class Level. Grader’s will cap the Spell’s progress at 26, 51, and 76 in any thread where the Instructor has given tutelage. If the PC desires the full reward in their grade then they must pay for the next Class Level and deduct it from their ledger.

Advanced Classes

Advanced classes are for subjects that have prerequisites that most people do not meet. Alchemy, Chimerics, Enchanting, and Runistics are considered advanced classes. Below are the prices listed for advanced classes.

Class LevelCost Per Class Per Season
Apprentice (0-25)15 Ruby Skerricks
Journeyman (26-50)30 Ruby Skerricks
Expert (51-75)40 Ruby Skerricks
Note: Any thread that takes place in the classroom is only able to award skill gains appropriate to the Class Level. Grader’s will cap the Spell’s progress at 26, 51, and 76 in any thread where the Instructor has given tutelage. If the PC desires the full reward in their grade then they must pay for the next Class Level and deduct it from their ledger.

Bonuses From Classes

All instructors at the Ministry of Casters are considered to have the Basic Skill: Teaching – Known. Every thread that focuses on a player character taking a class they have payed for will receive a +4 bonus to the spell being taught when the grade is rewarded. It is important to understand that the class a student signs up for only bestows information and practice for that spell at that level. Threads in where the Teaching bonus is applied to the grade cannot not progress a character more than a single point beyond the level that they paid for. If the player pays the fee for the next level, they can receive all the points they might have otherwise missed.

Note To Graders

When a PC has reached the designated cap for their spell from a class (26, 51, 76) continue to track what their gains could have been in that thread. When attaching the final grade to the Milestone, mention how many points the PC did not receive in the spell they registered for, as well as the cost of the higher Class Level they need to pay in order to get all possible points.

If the focus of a thread does not feel as though it is on their experience in a classroom learning a spell, but it in fact happens in thread, reducing the Teaching Bonus from +4 to +2 for that thread. Threads that have a reduced Teaching Bonus are still subject to the skill caps of 26, 51, and 76.
