Avakaron Government

Published by admin on

The government of Avakaron consists of two majority entities, the Champions Sect and the Ministry of Casters. They both are headquartered in The Tower of Avakaron in the center of the city. The Champions Sect is at the top of the authority ladder and only answers to the Gods themselves. The Ministry of Casters rules generally over the magically inclined citizens but also takes charge of any defensive or combative situations.

Champions Sect

The Champions Sect was first established in Year 37 by Igmasen Dada who was blessed by the God Keutan of Production and Creativity. During this time he was the only blessed Hellbend that resided permanently in the city. Dada is the one who came up with the idea of the Sect and brought the idea to the Ministry of Casters. Even though the Ministry would be giving up a lot of power to the Sect Dada proposed, the Hellbends are religious people and Dada was a loved and trusted member of society. The Ministry was getting overwhelmed with all the duties of the city, and so giving some of those duties up was welcomed. The idea was accepted and the Sect was formed. For a while, Igmasen Dada was the only member but in Year 40 he was joined by Tasfut Azam who was blessed by Marili, Goddes of Flow, and Water.

Throughout the years the numbers grew and waned, usually with around three members, but has been up to seven in history. Only those who are blessed by one or more of the Gods are allowed to be a member of the Sect, and not all who are blessed are accepted in.

The Champions Sect is a religious group that helps maintain order within the city of Avakaron. They are considered just below the Gods and while they are not worshiped as gods, their word is taken as gospel. While the Champions Sect and the Ministry of Casters normally work side by side, the Champions Sect does have the final say on any decision or action they deem necessary. Generally, the Champions Sect deals with maintaining the city and the temples. Avakaron does not have a lot of crime, but in serious situations that the citizens themselves cannot decide on, the Sect serves judgments and punishments. The Sect also manages the production of Skerricks when needed, as well as allowing the use and exchange of Human Rounds within the city.

In order to join the Sect a potential member must be a Hellbend that resides permanently in Avakaron. They must be blessed by a God or Goddess and be approved after extensive questioning and tests by every current member of the Sect. Those blessed by the Gods are rare, and those accepted into the Sect are even rarer.
