Coins

Coins are used as in character currency in Siliren to buy wanted items in lieu of trading and bartering. Although trading items for items can easily still exist, coins act as a somewhat universal, at least for where they are accepted, trading tool. Coins in Siliren are largely varied between regions, races and cities. The Human currency of Rounds is the most commonly seen, used and accepted form throughout Siliren. However all currency whether human origin or not, have equal value and can be exchanged 1:1.

Despite the different currency types in the different cities and regions, each currency type has three sub-types: Gold, Silver, Copper. Some currencies may have a different name for each rank, but the value is the same. The table below shows the exchange rate between each rank.

Exchange

Some types of Coins may not be accepted in some locations. Here the character would have to find a way to transfer their current coins into the accepted Coins in the location they are in. The difficult part of transferring currency is finding someone who is willing to trade. Traveling merchants are known for openly exchanging coins from one form to another, as long as their supplies last. Some cities have shops or banks that openly transfer coins, if not the traveler will have to find someone willing to trade elsewhere.
