Below are the guidelines to prizes for the National November Writer’s Month challenge that is hosted on Siliren.


5,000 Words

Players that manage to write a minimum of 5,000 words during the month of November will receive 5 Gold or Ruby Skerricks to add to their ledger. This is added to the ledger of the character that the player selected during sign-up.


12,500 Words

Players that managed to write a minimum of 12,500 words during the month of November can select one prize from the following options.

  1. They can receive any item of Expert quality craftsmanship (x3 price modifier) so long as the item’s final price does not exceed 35 Gold.
  2. They can receive any one item of up to 10 Gold in value that has an enchantment that provides a +5 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.

They can receive any of the pre-generated items of this tier instead.

Pre-Generated Prizes

Each of these items have only 1 of its 4 enchantment slots used, and they are all of Apprentice quality.

  • Gem of Luminesce
    • This jade, weighing four ounces, has been carved into a two-inch diameter sphere. With a simple command word, it emits a green light that illuminates a fifteen-foot area.
  • Endless Flavor Powder
    • A small two-inch tall glass container is filled with a black and gray powder. Anything consumed that has been sprinkled with this powder tastes savory. No matter how much powder is used, the glass container never becomes empty.
  • Comb of Change
    • This ivory comb is six inches in length, the first half is comprised of narrowly spaced fine teeth and the second half has thicker, wider spaced teeth. When run through a person’s hair, the person holding the brush is able to change the color of the hair. The change becomes permanent until the next time the magic of Comb of Change is used.
  • Cloth of Removal
    • A 12 inch x 12 inch satin cloth (color can vary) with the ability to clean anything off of any surface that it is wiped across. Does not repair any damage or deterioration an item may have suffered. The cloth itself never appears dirty.
  • Satchel of Secrecy
    • This leather satchel of faded color does not look to different from many seen by couriers throughout any city. Inside is a magically concealed compartment that is only noticeable to an Auristics caster that is looking directly inside the satchel. The aura of the satchel itself can only be seen when looking directly inside the satchel as well.

25,000 Words

Players that managed to write a minimum of 25,000 words during the month of November can select one prize from the following options.

  1. They can receive any item of Master quality craftsmanship (x5 price modifier) so long as the item’s final price does not exceed 100 Gold.
  2. They can receive any one item of Expert craftsman quality (x3 price modifier) up to 75 Gold in value that has an enchantment that provides a +5 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.
  3. They can receive any one item up to 10 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +5 bonus to any two Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills.

They can also select a pre-generated prize from this tier, or two from a lower tier.

Pre-Generated Prizes

Each of these items have only 1 of its 4 enchantment slots used, and they are all of Journeyman quality.

  • Pendant of Arcane Vision
    • This necklace has a leather strap that holds a crystal pendant. The crystal very slowly changes color regardless of light sources. The person that wears this necklace is able to see the aura of any spell in the atmosphere that normally cannot be seen by the naked eye, such as a chimeric, a telepathic link, or a telekinetic’s rigen-wire. This does not reveal the aura of other magic items or a caster’s spells that operate internally.
  • Krathara Coin
    • This three-inch wide bronze medallion has runes etched along its perimeter on either side, with an engraving depicting Cheon in the center. With a simple command word, specific runes darken with shadows in bright areas, or brighten with a soft glow in dark areas, to reveal the exact time of day. The time is shown for ten seconds before fading.
  • Lens of Far-Sight
    • This monocle enhances the eyesight of the eye covered by a factor of ten, allowing them to clearly see things normally too far away.
  • Ring of Ownership
    • This simple band crafted from a single piece of stone is etched with runes that can bind it to another item. By concentrating, the wearer can touch an item that weighs less than 25 lbs. which then receives a rune that matches the style of those on the ring. When the wearer reaches a hand out, they can will the bound item to fly to their hand so long as it is within thirty feet of them.
  • Pendants of Windspeech (Matching Pair)
    • Both Pendants have a quarter inch long blue tinted crystal attached to a length of leather. When the wearer of a Pendant of Windspeech holds the crystal to their lips and whispers intently, the wearer of the matching pendant can clearly hear them. Works up to a distance of 100 feet.
  • Scholar’s Quill
    • Fashioned from an ornate feather (player can decide the exact appearance), this quill produces an endless amount of ink on its own. The color of the ink can be altered to any color the holder chooses. By brushing the feathered end against the paper, any writing produced by the Scholar’s Quill is completely erased.

37,500 Words

Players that managed to write a minimum of 37,500 words during the month of November can select one prize from the following options.

  1. They can receive any item of Master quality craftsmanship (x5 price modifier) so long as the item’s final price does not exceed 200 Gold is enchanted to receive a +5 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.
  2. They can receive any one item of Expert craftsman quality (x3 price modifier) up to 125 Gold in value that has an enchantment that provides a +10 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.
  3. They can receive any one item up to 25 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +10 bonus to any two Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills.
  4. They can receive any one item up to 10 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +15 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.

They can also select a pre-generated prize from this tier, or two from a lower tier.

Pre-Generated Prizes

Each of these items have only 1 of its 4 enchantment slots used, and they are all of Expert quality.

  • Weapon of Savagery
    • (Select a weapon worth less than 10 Gold, or a weapon that is already in your possession.) This weapon has a rusty coloration though shows no signs of deterioration. Those who suffer injury from this weapon feel as though their flesh had been cut deeper, their bones cracked by impacts, or that the weapon had penetrated further. If the wielder of this weapon succeeds in injuring an opponent with the weapon, the wound automatically increases to the next level of severity (Minor to Medium, Medium to Major, Major to Severe, Severe to Extreme, Extreme to instant kill).   • Breastplate of Favor
    • This bronze breastplate provides a +11 Armor Bonus. During combat, shadows and various colors stretch and swirl over its surface in distracting ways. Opponents suffer a -10 penalty to any actions they make against the wearer during combat.
  • Garment of the Salamander
    • This leather vest has a rough texture similar to that of a reptile’s hide. The wearer of this vest is resistant to severe heat, whether natural or magical. The wearer is unaffected by environmental heat ranging from 90 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Pyromancy spells that would affect the wearer suffer a -15 penalty on their rolls.
  • Quill of Paranoia
    • This quill was made from a nine-inch feather of an unknown beast. At the base of the quill, it is sandy brown and gradually darkens to a ashen gray. The tip of the quill seeps its own ink without ever needing an inkwell. Anything written by this quill turns invisible and can only be read by whoever is holding the Quill of Paranoia. Auristics reveal an aura on the surface of whatever the quill has written on, but does not allow them to read what was written.
  • Adamant Armor
    • (Select a single piece of armor worth less than 25 gold, or a piece of armor that is already in your possession.) This piece of armor has been enhanced by magic to be extra resilient and provide greater protection. The selected piece of armor’s Armor Bonus is increased by +10.

50,000 Words

Players that managed to write a minimum of 50,000 words during the month of November can select one prize from the following options.

  1. They can receive any item of Master quality craftsmanship (x5 price modifier) so long as the item’s final price does not exceed 375 Gold is enchanted to receive a +5 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.
  2. They can receive any one item of Expert craftsman quality (x3 price modifier) up to 300 Gold in value that has an enchantment that provides a +10 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.
  3. They can receive any one item up to 100 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +10 bonus to any three Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills.
  4. They can receive any one item up to 25 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +15 bonus to any two Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills.
  5. They can receive any one item up to 10 Gold in value that possesses an enchantment that provides a +20 bonus to any Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skill.

They can also select a pre-generated prize from this tier, or two from a lower tier.

Pre-Generated Prizes

  • Book of Endless Pages
    • This black, leatherbound journal is only an inch thick when closed. While writing in the journal, the author never reaches the final page regardless of the number of times they write in the journal. Anyone can hold the closed journal close to their lips and whisper the subject they wish to read that’s been written in its pages. The journal automatically condenses all relevant pages together for easy reference.
    • This Enchantment uses 2 of the 4 slots available, and is considered a Master quality.
  • Rod of Winter’s Fury
    • This smooth black-iron rod is five-inches in length. Runes adorn its glossy surface without affecting the grip. With a simple command word, ice that’s harder than iron extends from the rod and into the shape of any melee weapon that the wielder can think of. The wielder gains a +10 bonus on weapon rolls relating to the weapon that the Rod of Winter’s Fury has taken the form of.
    • 3 of the 4 enchantment slots for this item are filled.
      • Ice forming any Weapon shape: 1 Slot of Master Quality
      • +10 bonus to more than one weapon: 2 Slot enchantment of Master Quality
  • Anorian Soul Ring
    • This ring is a white gold band with a low-set green diamond that magically changes to the correct size for a person to wear it. While wearing this ring, the wearer receives a 25-point increase to their spellpool.
    • This item has the Spellpower enchantment that is listed on the Enchanting page. It is a Master Quality enchantment that uses 1 slot.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable Item
    • (Select an item worth less than 80 Gold in value, or an item that is already in your possession.) This item can only be damaged or destroyed by an artifact, semi-divine beings, and gods.
    • This item has the Nigh-Invulnerable enchantment that is listed on the Enchanting page. It is a Master Quality enchantment that uses 2 slots.
  • Traveler’s Sanctum
    • This three person tent is crafted from fawn colored canvass with randomized streaks and blotches of hazel wood brown across the surface. Once the owner has laid all the pieces in a collected pile and speak a command word, the tent assembles itself over the course of five seconds. The inside temperature is altered to the owner’s preference to keep them comfortable. Weather hazards like wind and rain are unable to penetrate the exterior.
    • 2 of the 4 Enchantment slots for this item are filled.
      • Magical Assembly: 1 Slot of Expert quality.
      • Environmental Protection and Comfort: 1 Slot of Master quality.
  • Familiar Circlet
    • A copper circlet with a fire opal encrusted at the center. The wearer can spend fifty points from their spellpool to conjure a spectral aviary familiar that is visible to others and has a quasi physical substance. The familiar operates with the same limitations as a Chimera, except for the following. Conjuring the familiar requires an hour of uninterrupted meditation and it lasts for 24 hours. The familiar is unable to grasp anything, but is able to interact with living things. Once per thread, the familiar can be sacrificed to completely neutralize a spell of any quality that does not exceed 100. If the spell is produced by a caster with a numeric value over 100, the spell is treated as having a -100 penalty to its roll or is reduced to Apprentice limitations.
    • This enchantment uses 2 of the 4 magic item slots and is considered Master in quality.
      • The use of this circlet is not eligible for experience gains in the Chimerics spell.

Beyond 50,000 Words

For every 12,500 words that a player writes beyond the 50,000 milestone, the player can select an additional Master Quality enchantment, that only uses one slot, to add to their desired prize, so long as it has the slots available.

  • 62,500 Words – 1 additional Master Quality enchantment
  • 75,000 Words – 2 additional Master Quality enchantments total
  • 87,500 Words – 3 additional Master Quality enchantments total
  • 100,000 Words: Master Quality magic items only have 4 enchantment slots. Should a player managed this accomplishment and not be the Grand Prize Winner, they can have two magic items that are not pre-generated that have a total of 5 Master Quality enchantment slots uses between them.

Grand Prize Winner

The player that successfully wrote at least 50,000 words in the month of November, and wrote the most, gets to receive the grand prize. An artifact of great power that can do any of the following:

  1. The Artifact provides a +25 bonus to any three Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills and a +20 bonus to a fourth.
  2. The Artifact provides a +25 bonus to any two Core/Combat/Magic/or Knowledge skills and a +20 bonus to any other three.
  3. A special Artifact designed by the Moderator Team.
  4. Any +20 skill bonus can be substituted with a Master Quality Enchantment.
  5. Any +25 skill bonus can be substituted for an Artifact Quality Enchantment (Speak with the Moderator Team to discuss options).
